The Logo informs customers that only standard meat and meat by-products are sold in restaurants and other food outlets that display it. Remember – the secular method of slaughter is used for the production of all conventional meat and displaying our Logo ensures that only standard meat is sold. It also ensures that the three different types of meat (standard, halal and kosher) are not mixed for the benefit of all.
Yes, Standardmeat certified restaurants and food outlets may also provide a Halal or Kosher option. This is simply down to each individual outlet and whether they are able to or feel that there is a local need. We believe in catering to the needs of all, while working to ensure that the three diverse types of meat are kept fully distinct.
Standardmeat certification - Simply refers to the secular method of slaughter used for standard (conventional) meat production. Only food outlets that sell Standardmeat or Standardmeat as part of their menu can display the Standardmeat logo. Standardmeat Certification provides third party validation to ensure that only meat that has been slaughtered using conventional secular methods can be sold under the standard meat Logo. The accompanying FoodUmbrella logo visually describes what meat is standard, halal or kosher. It also lists vegetarian, vegan and seafood.
